Exercises that Burn Fat and Calories
One of the most
frequently asked question is what exercises can they do to
burn the most fat and how often. The best approach to burn
calories and fat is a long-term strategy and not a quick
fix. Regular cardio exercise for 20 to 30 minutes, 5
sessions per week is optimum for burning fat.
Your best fat burning
zone is 55% - 70% of your maximum heart rate which is a pace
that will just about keep you from having a normal
conversation.
Exercise alone is
usually not sufficient, especially for people over 30. It
takes a combination of good diet and exercise to burn the
most fat from your body. A commitment of 5 aerobic sessions
per week and a diet that includes 5 to 6 small meals will
help you burn fat quickly and keep it off.
Here are some of our
favorite exercises for burning fat;
-
Stationary Bike - This activity will burn 600 to 700
calories per hour if cycling at a moderate pace. Because
biking uses the large leg muscles, it requires more
energy, therefore you burn more calories. The great
advantage of stationary bike riding is that you can do
it right in front of your television or while listening
to your favorite radio program.
-
StairMasters or Elliptical - Available in most gyms and
health clubs. Elliptical simulates running without
pounding your joints. Since jogging naturally burns lots
of calories, these equipment give you the same calorie
burn without wearing out your joints
-
Swimming
– Available in some health club and gyms. If you can
make a habit of regular lap swimming, the fat will just
fall of you when combined with a good diet. Swimming
involves water resistance which is a natural calorie and
fat burner.
-
Fast
Pace Walk – The least calorie burning exercise but the
easiest and most accessible exercise to do. Strive for a
minimum of 5 times per week.
