Can You Lose 10 lbs in 3 Days?
My neighbor is on a new 3 day diet that
claims you can lose 10 lbs. As much as I want to believe
this, I’m suspicious that you can lose that much weight in 3
days. Will the weight loss be mostly water or can you really
lose 10 lbs in 3 days.

Your intuition is right ! Even if you
starved yourself and didn’t eat anything, you could not lose
10 lbs that quickly. It takes a deficit of 3500 calories to
lose 1 lb of fat. The average women burns around 2000 to
2100 calories per day, so it would take 15 days of fasting
to lose 10 lbs.
We don’t recommend fasting to lose
weight but we do recommend losing weight pounds through a
sensible diet and exercise program. Reducing daily intake by
500 calories per day and increasing metabolism by taking 25
minute walks will burn between 1 and 1-1/2 lbs each week.
This is the safe and sane way to lose weight and keep it
off.
