Burn Belly Fat with Certain Foods

Did you know that certain every day foods help burn fat? If you have lots of fat around your belly, then a combination of foods, good diet and regular exercise will get rid of that fat in a hurry. Certain foods promote fat burning by either scrubbing excess fat from body cells or flushing fat out of cell tissue.

The foods that help burn body fat are foods high in fiber such as vegetables and whole grain because it takes twice as many calories to burn a gram of fiber than a gram of fat. Foods that are high in fiber take more energy to digest and therefore raise your metabolism.

Some high fiber foods that burn fat are:

  • Whole grain oats or oatmeal
  • High fiber vegetables …. Broccoli, raw cabbage, carrots, celery
  • Apples
  • Brown rice

Other foods burn fat by acting as a natural diurectic that help flush out waste and fat deposit. Many of these foods you probably already eat such as:

  • Berries
  • Cantaloupe
  • Grapefruit
  • Beets

All these foods must be combined with a good diet that is low in fat and allow you to eat small meals 4 to 6 times per day. Small meals keep the metabolism high by keeping your blood sugar stable through the day. Of course small meals should consist of veggies, lean meats and low glycemic fruits …. not junk food !

To burn fat, you also need a good exercise program. A fast pace walk for 20 to 30 minutes per day, 4 times a week will speed up the rate your body burns fat. Stationary bike riding is even better because it burns more calories than walking and you can ride while watching your favorite program on television. Make sure your stationary bike has back support.
